Architectural Glass Solutions
Recently Magic Glass was invited to a home in Sydney's Dover Heights to measure, quote, supply and install an incredible architectural glass solution for their new atrium roof on a newly renovated home. Both Magic Glass and the home owner were so happy with the outcome that we have decided to share it with you for inspiration.
This photo is from the rooftop where the glass is to be installed you can see the Magic Glass truck far below and our massive crane (awesome right?) fitted with vacuum suction lifters, hoisting the slabs of glass into place.
2 trusty Magic Glass glaziers prepare a single panel of glass to be slotted into place on the roof top. It's also a great shot of how strong these suction lifters are. This panel measures over 4m Squared and weighs over 30kgs. Cleaning the edges and preparing the seals is vital to a long lasting and attractive install.
The moment of truth! -Having measured the job a week ago and produced each custom made panel of glass in out factory its now time for our glaziers to make it fit in place. This is the moment that makes or breaks a job. If the guy doing the measurements got it wrong there will be a lot of unhappy people to answer to. Luckily our guys are guru's and this sort of stuff doesn't happen when you use Magic Glass 😉
This picture is from inside the building looking up through the newly installed glass ceiling. The cut stone feature wall, naked steel beam and concrete really show off the architectural styling of the new glass panels.
Finally the finished glass installation, not a bad view off the coast of Sydney either...
As a professional glazier this shot makes me really happy. As as home owner the client was thrilled. These huge glass panels are 17.52mm Clear Toughened 'Sunergy' laminate glass. Not only are they highly attractive and decorative but super functional as well, allowing natural light to stream into the home all year around while controlling temperature for cooler summers and warmers winters inside the home.
